AI is exquisitely good at hanging information into the frameworks that it knows about; implied by how AI sees us using them. Until trained, AI won’t present business descriptions in terms of decisions and how they are communicated.
Assertion Modeling is a simpler language/framework to advance our management of business knowledge. AI can be a helper.
Assertion modeling trials with AI have included asking it to populate an assertion model with what it knows about a particular domain. It works surprisingly well, pre-populating a starter assertion model. But immediately gaps are exposed in the business description(because AI stays generalized).
Trials, using AI to help create code, from the complete specification generated from an assertion model, works very well too. Using this approach the Order Entry Application was built in about a week.
Context Engineering is emerging from the realization of the difficulty of prompt management.
The Near Future
When you have a strong assertion model, structured with what the business does, then this anchor provides the foundation for business design and change. Vibe code your assertion model if you must (it works well), examine it from your own perspectives(using AI if you wish), and then create structured specifications as your AI context( great early results).
Don’t try this with the other methodologies, you will hurt yourself. I’ve tried.
